2019 ___ situated project ___ video installation and a live presentation

 

Futeau: Branding Identities is a project about the identity of the village of Futeau in northern France. A village where my uncle and aunt live and which I have been visiting all my life.

The arrival of a medieval animation park in the forests near Futeau, the damage caused by the First World War and the deflation of the countryside as a result of urbanization, at first sight determine the identity of the village.

The project is an investigation into the beauty and absurdity of determining identity in relation to city marketing.

 

In a video installation the search for a more honest identity of Futeau is shown. On the basis of these video images, the viewer gets an impression of the village and the viewer can make his own connections himself.

The video installation is supported by a live presentation about the current status of the project, i which I share the connections I have made and I tell about my conclusions and reconsiderations during this project.
